At Shaikly Motor Company we are passionate about diagnostics and have heavily invested in diagnostic equipment and training so that our technicians can perform accurate car diagnostics and van diagnostics in Colchester, so that we can continue to give our customers the service they expect and rely on.

Initially, we gather as much information about the fault as possible, often by using our Diagnostic Assessment form below. We then use this information to begin our logical fault-finding process. The more information we can gather usually means we are able to find the fault quicker, therefore saving you time and money. 

Be cautious! Other garages may offer discounted/cheap ‘diagnostics’, however, a cheap assessment is not always the best option. We often see ‘quick’ and ‘cheap’ diagnoses resulting in the wrong repair which can result in additional costs. Many garages will also try and keep costs down by using parts that are not fit for purpose.

At Shaikly Motor Company, we like to operate differently. Our goal is to provide our customers with a first-time fix. We promise to use only high-quality/ genuine parts. 

What happens during a diagnostic assessment?

The aim of our initial diagnostic assessment is to give you an answer as to how we can best move forward in repairing the fault on your vehicle. Often, we are able to determine the cause of the fault within the initial assessment and provide you with an accurate estimate for repairs. Alternatively, we will be able to devise a logical test plan that we need to carry out in order to get to the bottom of the fault. This may involve further checks and additional charges but we promise not to carry out any extra work until you have authorised it. 

A member of our knowledgeable customer service team will contact you and explain the results of the diagnostic assessment and provide a clear estimate of the costs. We promise to offer our honest and fair advice and are happy to discuss any queries you may have at length.
