Some Do; Here’s Why We Don’t
Here’s a question we get asked more often than you’d expect: “Will you fit parts I’ve purchased elsewhere?” Or sometimes: “I’ve already bought the bits, I just need you to tell me how much it would be to fit them.”
We get it. A garage tells you your car needs two front coil springs and on the quote they’re £100 each, but you’ve found some online at £75 each. You figure: why not save £50, buy them yourself, and just pay someone to fit them?
And yes, there will be garages that say yes. But we are not one of them — and here’s why.
Every vehicle that leaves our workshop has to meet our standards. So, here’s why we only fit parts we source and why that’s in your best interest.
The main reasons are simple:
- Quality
- Safety
- Responsibility
- Warranty
When we supply the parts, we know exactly what we’re working with, and we are confident in the quality. We provide all repairs with a warranty, so if the part fails, we replace it. It’s as easy as that.
But if you’ve brought it in? We can’t guarantee the parts quality, which means we cannot provide a warranty, and this can potentially lead to problems further down the road. At Shaikly Motor Company, we care about trust and accountability. We stick with parts we know and trust, so we both can feel confident.
Choosing the correct part for your vehicle is just as important as fitting it properly. We use genuine or OE (Original Equipment) equivalents that meet the exact specifications for your make and model. The wrong part might appear correct, but it can cause performance issues or even long-term damage.
By handling the sourcing ourselves, we make sure everything fitted is the correct quality, fit, and compatibility for your vehicle.
And finally, imagine walking into a nice restaurant with a steak in hand and asking the chef to cook it. It doesn’t quite work like that, does it?
It works the same in our workshop. Supplying and fitting the part is one complete service. By letting us source it, you know it is the right quality, it fits your vehicle, and it comes with our full warranty. That way, if anything goes wrong, you are covered.
