Vehicle Diagnostics in Colchester

If there is one thing Shaikly Motor Company excels at, it’s diagnostics. Modern vehicles are equipped with complex electronic systems, and identifying faults requires expertise, experience, and the right equipment. Our thorough diagnostic approach ensures accurate fault detection, preventing unnecessary repairs and costs.

Our Approach to Diagnostics:

Initially, we gather as much information about the fault as possible, often by using our Diagnostic Assessment form below. We then use this information to begin our logical fault-finding process. The more information we can gather usually means we are able to find the fault quicker, therefore saving you time and money.

The aim of our initial diagnostic assessment is to give you an answer as to how we can best move forward in repairing the fault on your vehicle. Often, we are able to determine the cause of the fault within the initial assessment and provide you with an accurate estimate for repairs. Alternatively, we will be able to devise a logical test plan that we need to carry out in order to get to the bottom of the fault. This may involve further checks and additional charges but we promise not to carry out any extra work until you have authorised it.

A member of our knowledgeable customer service team will contact you and explain the results of the diagnostic assessment and provide a clear estimate of the costs. We promise to offer our honest and fair advice and are happy to discuss any queries you may have at length.

No guesswork, just logical and accurate diagnostics

How We Have Helped Others Just Like You…

Frequently Asked Questions:

How long does a diagnostic check take?
A diagnostic check takes as long as necessary to accurately identify the issue. The time required depends on various factors, including the type of fault, the vehicle make and model, previous repairs, and how long the fault has been present. Before starting any investigation, we will agree on an investigation charge and an authorised time. There will be no hidden costs or surprises.
Can I wait while a diagnostic assessment is being carried out?
Technically, yes, but here’s why we prefer you leave the vehicle with us: We may need to contact technical support, and this process can take a few hours for a response. Some issues require extended monitoring, multiple test drives, or vehicle cooling periods to diagnose accurately. A thorough diagnostic assessment takes time, and we want to ensure we provide the most accurate results without unnecessary delays.
What happens after a diagnostic check?
We provide a detailed report of any faults found and advise on the best course of action.
Do I need a diagnostic check even if my car is running fine?
If you have fault lights present, they are there for a reason. We always recommend getting an assessment carried out even if the vehicle appears to be performing perfectly.
